The tool is for healthcare providers to communicate breast cancer survival at five-year with the hope to manage the patients' expectations.
myBeST requires information about the patient and cancer. The tool then uses the information to estimate the five-year survival probability since diagnosis.
It is based on a validated model using datasets of women with breast cancer in Malaysia diagnosed between 2012 and 2016 that were followed until 2021.
It is a collaborative work by experts from the Department of Community Medicine, School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Ministry of Health Malaysia.
